The Inspiration

When I was a 21-year-old college student, I visited Victoria, BC, and the world-famous Butchart Gardens. The acres of meticulously designed landscapes and endless variety of plants left a lasting impression on me. In the 30 years since, I’ve managed thousands of landscapes — and the most rewarding part has always been helping people bring their outdoor spaces to life.

Throughout my career as a laborer, manager, sales rep, trainer, consultant, and irrigation technician, I’ve learned how to create practical, effective plans that help homeowners and businesses achieve their goals. Friends and neighbors often seek my advice and refer me to others, recognizing the unique combination of hands-on experience, technical knowledge, and attention to detail that I bring to each project.

In a field often divided between specialists and “gardeners with trucks,” my broad skillset allows me to see the big picture — balancing aesthetics, function, and long-term care from a realistic, pragmatic perspective. At this stage in my career, my greatest satisfaction comes from helping people who simply need a little guidance to make their landscapes thrive.
